Raped, then stoned to death!

Fourteen year old Hena's innocence caught the eye of her cousin, Mahbub Khan. She studied in the same class as his son; that didn't stop him from harassing her. Her father complained. Mahbub Khan was asked to pay a fine. The matter was buried.

Many months later, Mahbub Khan abducted her and raped her. His wife heard Hena's cries for help. She accused Hena of having an illicit relationship.

Hena was found guilty and sentenced to be whipped. She died.

He escaped.

If it were fiction, you would say it was unrealistic. Unfortunately, it happened. And we can do nothing.

Natasha - How utterly heartbreaking! How terrible! No matter what explanations anyone might come up with, there are no excuses for this. Not for the people that allowed it to happen, nor for the guilty party. How horrible!

How sickening! What is wrong with a woman when she KNOWS her husband RAPED someone and accuses the girl who was raped. There are just no words for ho upset I am by the fact that women can do this to each other on top of what the men do!

I can never understand why things like this still happen. Horrific and sad for the human race.

What kind of society allows this? Ours. It's sickening and frightening and all too real. My heart goes out to her, and the countless others whose stories we haven't heard. Thanks for sharing hers. As you often do, you gave her a voice.

Life is always harder to believe. This is so sad.
Did the man escape or is he dead? It would be justice.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. And you say nothing can be done about this? That is even more horrible than the crime committed against the girl.

That poor child. Her family must be heartbroken. That things like this still go on in the world is truly unbelievable.

Such a sad tale. The poor child had no chose in this matter. The cousin did. He should be the one to pay, not her. Unfortunately this happens way too often.
The guilty get away and the innocent pay the toll.

I can't believe that I take my life for granted while people around the world are suffering like this. We all think it's horrible, but none of us do anything about it.

This is so sad. What kind of world is this when the victim is blamed and the government condones it.

My heart breaks for this girl and her family.

This is so painful to read. There are no words I have to describe how I feel.

There are times I despair for us humans. To be able to consider this right - I cannot comprehend.

The young need to be protected. Males need to unlearn what they've been told are their rights.

The dignity of everyone is sacred and inviolable.
