A friend no more

A friend met the man of her dreams. Or the man she thought was the man of her dreams. She said was instant chemistry. I was skeptical; love at first sight not being something I believe in.

I tried warning her. But shut up when I sensed she didn't want to hear what I had to tell.

Another friend, was a better friend. He warned her. Told her she shouldn't get too involved. She didn't listen. She didn't want to.

She got hurt, as both of us feared she would. She's not talking to the friend who warned her anymore.

_____
drabble is a story told in exactly 100 words.

It's difficult when we make fools of ourselves to face those who knew better. Give your friend time.

That's a shame she cut off ties with her friend.

I love the drabble so much. As far as the friend goes, I have heard this over and over, the loss of a friend who speaks up. But how can you sit by in silence when you love someone? I have learned the hard way to do just that...but it ain't easy.

Maybe she is upset, annoyed and guilty all at once that he saw what she couldn't....she will come back when she is over her loss and sense of failure...nice drabble....happy holi if you celebrate. :)

Hopefully they will become friends again given time. It could be she is embarrassed to have been proven so wrong.

How is the friend who told her truthfully taking it...? If she is talking to you still, maybe in addition to giving her support, you could help her get back to the other friend.

Not all friends have the same use. And maybe you held your tongue for this day - when you could stand by her and help her in a different way.

How sad for the friend who tried to help out by giving the warning. She should have hugged and thanked them profusely!!
Oh well!!!
Hope she will come fully to her senses!

Rayna - What a sad reminder of the saying, "I'll see it when I believe it." People so often do not listen if it isn't what they want to hear...

Seeing and speaking the truth are often not appreciated:(

I've never heard of a drabble, but I like that concept. That story told so much, and we've all encountered that at least once.
