See the Life You Change

The other day, the younger one suddenly piped up. " Mamma, let's buy all these bamboos and send them to China."
"Umm?"
"Pandas are dying because they don't have enough bamboo. If we give them this bamboo, they will not be hungry."
"I am not sure it's a good idea."
"But, Mamma, Pandas are endangered. If we don't give them bamboo, they will all die."
"In that case, let's give money to people who can buy bamboo and feed it to the pandas."
"Okay, but are you sure they will buy the bamboo for the panda?"

He sure doesn't trust anyone!

That's so cute. I love how children's minds work. They see a need and think, "Well, just buy it and mail it to them!" If only it was that simple :)

Thanks for the link! I'll check it out.

Rayna - I so admire the way you have taught and modeled for your sons how to truly care about others. No matter what else they learn from you, that is one of the most important lessons. You are such a fine mother!

It's sad that we've become so distrusting but it's true that a great deal of money we donate often doesn't go to the people in need. I think we need to be generous but cautious. You have a smart little boy. And cute too! What a great pic!

oh, that is so sweet! And he's so smart... Can you believe--one of our neighbors has bamboo in her yard, and my youngest said, "That's what the pandas eat!"

curricula standardized worldwide? International Panda campaign??? ;p

I love that he knows his stuff already! And that he's clearly compassionate and savvy in equal measure.

Your son proves that kids are so much smarter than we give them credit for.

What a wonderful web site and causes. Thanks for letting us know about it.

Love the photo, what a kindhearted boy~ My daughter did something like this. Now, we try to do things locally where we can see the change or how our actions affect others.
I will check out your site, I think it makes a huge impact to give back!

Great post!~

You son sounds so sweet! My daughter woke me up this morning telling me that wolves are endangered and that she learned there are wolves in the northern part of our state. She's hoping to see one some day. lol
