The word I wanted was ‘silhouette’. As is often the case, I didn’t
know the spelling, so put down something hoping spell-check would be able to help.
No hope- the word remained underlined in red. I tried another spelling. This time
I spell-check threw up ‘stiletto’. I nearly selected, but paused. I was looking
for a dark figure set against a setting sun, not for high-heeled shoes or an assassin’s
knife. Ultimately, I had to seek Ms. Google’s help.
Even in this age of auto-correct, or maybe because this is
the age of auto-correct, you need to know your spellings.
---------I was happy because Thing One represented his grade in the Spelling Bee. He didn't win or finish runners' up, but he was selected, and that's a big thing too!

Natasha - Congratulations to you and Thing 1! What great news. And I agree that it's always helpful to have a sense of spelling. I like it that words are my friends.
