The last time

I little over a year back, I ran in the Aarey forest for the last time. I had been running there for nearly nine months. It was where I put in the miles that made me a marathoner. I loved the place.
After that last run, I tapered for the marathon. And when I re-started with lower mileages, the neighbourhood park just seemed more convenient. Travelling a few kilometres to run no longer made sense. I never went back.
If I’d known then that it was the last time I would be running there, would I have done anything differently?

A Drabble is a story told in exactly 100 words.

I have some spots I miss, too, that I used to go when I ran. Even running now, I am probably not going to run 8-9 miles at a time again and if I don't go that far, I can't get there without driving (which I won't do).

Wow. Sometimes we get so introspective and it brings up feelings of nostalgia. This drabble makes me wish I had the gift of foresight. :/

I haven't heard of the term Drabble before. The picture sets the story.

Natasha - I know what you mean. There's a little local clothes shop I used to go to. It's just closed and I won't be going there again, but I wonder how much more often I'd have gone if I'd known I wouldn't get the chance again...
