42.195 kilometers

I was always slightly vague about the distance of the marathon- anything from 42 kilometers to 42.2 kilometers was what I would put it at. It really didn’t matter- when you have done that much, a bit more is just a bit more.
But when my legs gave way with less than 50 meters to go, the distance to the finish line seemed insurmountable. Those last few steps were harder than the rest of the race had been. I now know the exact distance of the marathon is exactly forty two point one nine five kilometres- no more, no less.

Congrats Natasha!!!!! Hey, your legs started to give out but you finished! It's an amazing accomplishment. Just keep swimming (Dory voice from Finding Nemo). . . I mean running. :D

Natasha - It always seems that time moves more slowly and distances are longer when you're eager to get to the end. That's what makes the end of a run so much harder. Good for you not to give up.
