X is for ..... Xerox

This is a work of fiction and forms a part of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. I will attempt to write a new story based on the word for the day every day during the month of April.

She always dreaded Parent Teacher Meetings- none of Xerxes’ teachers seemed to understand him.

“Xerxes is bright. He could do so well, if he only applied himself.”
“I asked Xerxes to write an essay, but he drew a cartoon strip. How is he going to score marks this way?”
“Can’t you tell Xerxes to stick to the topic? He gives the most complicated answers to the simplest questions.”
“At this rate, Xerxes will soon need remedial lessons.”

She knew she should have minded, but she didn’t. In a world populated by Xerox copies, she knew her son was an Original.

A Drabble is a story told in exactly 100 words.

Natasha - ...and that makes her a very special and wonderful parent. I love the way this story shows that part of what makes a person special is her or his uniqueness.

Not sure I could manage a 'drabble' and make it this interesting. My current historical wip is sitting at 100,00+ and it's still a way to go! Nancy at Welcome to she said, he said

This great! And such a good way to do the A-Z - 100 words is nice and short, especially when there are lots of other blogs to try to squeeze in!

And it's also a good way to show off your wordsmithing - trying to contain an idea in such a few words means each one has to work hard to justify itself!

I did something similar for last year's A-Z, but it was a serial with a new 100-word episode each day (beginning with the letter for the day and ending with the following day's start!)so, yeah - I DO understand what you've managed to achieve here!

Sad it took until today to get to you on the blog-hop, but I'm now following (and you're on my blog list!)
:-)

SueH I refuse to go quietly!

Toward end of each month I adventure out, look and visit different blogs....There seem to be all sort of meme at one time...the only fiction I get to do is at our local writing group.
If you fine the time stop on in for a cup of coffee.

Very good drabble. It grabbed me from the beginning and just didn't let go. Love the thought at the end. Good message.
