A for ...... Advice

This is a work of fiction and forms a part of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge. I will attempt to write a new story based on the word for the day every day during the month of April.

To her friends, she was Anna. Compassionate Anna, who’s shoulder was always there for you to cry on. Dependable Anna, who never repeated any of your confidences.

Nobody suspected she was Aunt Agatha- the sassy, savvy, cynical Agony Aunt who said it as she saw it. Aunt Agatha, who often sounded blunt and uncaring, but was nothing if not sensible. How could they? Anna never professed advice; she only patiently heard you out.

Aunt Agatha was famous. People hung on to every word she uttered. But deep down, she knew that it was as Anna that she was most effective.

A Drabble is a story told in exactly 100 words.

I love reading short fiction. It takes a lot of skill to write a story that captures attention with as little words as possible, and it's certainly not one of my talents.

This was quite nice to read. However, I do have a doubt: shouldn't the last sentence be "But deep down, Agatha knew that it was as Anna that she was more effective" or did I miss something?

Sorry for nitpicking. This is still a great story. I can't wait to see what you'll come up with for the rest of the letters!

This is great and we're doing the same sort of thing! I think this could definitely go somewhere ...

Well done!! As one who is not a Drabbler but a Rambler, I am quite in awe of your ability to capture Anna's character in 100 hundred words. Shoot, I couldn't have given the AtoZ Introduction in 100 words, much less in two short sentences as you have done. Again, Well Done!

Cute but with meaning. I liked it.

You have turned the drabble into an art form, Natasha. I will enjoy your A-Z's once again.
