Enjoy the moment

You’ve loved striding about in our shoes,
from the time you learnt to walk.
Remember how you nearly twisted your ankle,
while trying on my heels?
There are just a few years to go before,
those tiny feet get too big to fit into my shoes.

Not too long ago, you could barely stand,
much less balance yourself on my feet.
Today, you whoop with glee while I
swing you up and bring you down again.
Today, I can do it a dozen times, but
soon, I’ll no longer be able to take your weight.

Till then, enjoy the moment.

I love the poem! Your postings are just so beautiful. I still do that some times. Trying out my mother's shoes, that is. Although my feet have already out-grown her's, by length and width (it's a growing wood plank, I say).

The image is definitely a picture perfect moment, little feet on bigger ones.: )

Thanks, Michelle.
My mom and I swap shoes too, but that is because we are the same size!
