When I was old enough to know, I decided  I wanted to be a scientist. Not a scientist who cures people or makes the world a better place but a scientist who discovers esoteric stuff. Things never quite worked out that way. No regrets, but sometimes it is fun to think of how it may have been.

I spent yesterday in an integrated school that we help fund. There were smiling faces all around me, and I was glad I am doing exactly what I am doing.

We take different paths, but if we seek it, we all find happiness.

We must remember to seek our happiness because we are the only one who can find it.

that is so great, and it's so true. And I've found you never know where all the path will go, but if you keep walking it leads you back around to the start... :D

Rayna - John Lennon once said, "Life is just what happens to you when you're busy doing other things." Your post made me think of that, and of how important it is to go where we are intended to go and be what we are intended to be, no matter what we might have originally thought would happen...

I think you're right. It's true that a person has to make plans for the future but also has to accept and make best what happens. Great post and pic.

They say life is what happens when we're off making plans. Often we discover what we thought was important when we were younger isn't really what life's all about. We learn our mission in life was something different altogether.

Sometimes life just places us in the right vocation.

Rayna, I wanted to be a vet when I was a child. Public speaking was nowhere on my list! But whatever we end up doing, if we do it with passion and excitement, that's all that matters.

I totally agree. You have to map out your journey through life but be able to enjoy the detours along the way.

So true :) This is something I had to learn the hard way. Very well written.

How interesting! I too wanted to be a scientist, and was almost there before I ditched the plan! But then again as you say, I am totally contented with what I am doing today, and dont regret any of my decisions!

@ Mary - wiser words were never spoken.

@ Leigh - but you do have to keep walking and not lose trust.

@ Margot - that is a fantastic line, isn't it?

@ Summer - thank you

@ Clarissa - absolutely. If you spend too much time in the past you are missing out on the present

@ Jessica - who can predict how things will work out?

@ Stephanie - that's what often happens, isn't it?

@ Melissa - fits of insigth at best. But thanks all the same

@ Alex - it does, doesn't it?

@ Diane - a vet is a rather popular profession isn't it, for kids?

@ kmckendry - you put it so well.

@ dipali - and yet, it is so easy to attain if you choose to.

@ Saumya - thank you. And I am glad you learnt.

@ Anu - contentment is the most important thing, whatever my mother may say.
