If handwriting were a mirror to the soul.....

When Jessica Bell of The Alliterative Allomorph tagged me on the writing thingie a couple of weeks back, I intended honouring it but couldn't find a pen anywhere in the house, so forgot about it. Then yesterday, Cruella Collett of The Giraffability of Digressions tagged me again, and since I could lay my hands on a pen, here it is.

Handwritten answers to nine questions -

1. Name/Blog Name

2. Right handed, left handed, or both?

3. Favorite letters to write

4. Least favorite letters to write

5. Write out "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog"

6. Write in CAPS:
BABOON
SPLENDOR
ONOMATOPOEIA
FLIP-FLOPS
HUZZAH!

7. Favorite song lyrics

8. Tag 7 people

9. Whatever else strikes your fancy

Here you are-

Hard to make out from how rusty my handwriting has gotten, but I still do hand-write a lot of stuff (and not just shopping lists- come to think of it, when did I last make a shopping list?). This is how I love to write when I have the luxury- curled up on the rug, with a cup of tea next to me-

I have tagged seven people, but pick it up if you like even if I haven't tagged you. Barbara, I didn't tag you because I remember you saying you didn't want to be tagged.

At least you still have nice handwriting.

I like your handwriting. I'm not sure if it is exactly as I had pictures (I am not sure if I had pictured anything), but now that I see it I think it is very "you". And indeed legible :)

Rayna - I wish my handwriting were as nice as yours. Mine is absolutely illegible! And your handwriting looks quite a lot the way I imagined yours would..

@ Alex - legible, yes. Nice, no longer. But if you insist, why not accept the compliment. Thanks!

@ Mari - my handwriting is very 'Me". There was a time when I was heavily into graphology, and my handwriting described me perfectly.

@ Margot - mine is legible, but that's about it. There was a time when it was good, but it has gone all rusty now. Alas! But, thanks all the same.

I like your handwriting! When I did my own Friday Challenge last Friday I wrote it out long hand and found that each character had their own distinct handwriting! Yikes - I'm channeling made up people. Jan Morrison

Your writing DOES seem very you... It isn't so different from a much nicer version of mine, I think... I mean conceptually, we do our letters the same, but mine is a far sloppier version (still legible, at least to me).

Is the song Hindi? I love the lettering.

Typical female hand writing. Nice. And a cute picture of an animal at the bottom LOL! Have a great week.

oh, lord! You don't want to see my serial killer scrawl...

But I like your little pig~ ;p Oh, and I like the lettering of your song, too... ;o)

You have a strong hand! I can't write with ball point anymore, I'm a wuss.
But your penmanship is lovely!

This is a neat idea. I'll give it a try once things settle down around here. Homeschooling started last week, and we're still not into a routine yet. Your handwriting reminds me of a childhood friend's. It looks familiar :-)

What lovely handwriting. Mine is just.. well.. illegible!

You do have lovely handwriting. It seems to be a vanishing art. I heard last week that a large percentage of US college students can't write cursive. All are use to using a computer.

Good for you Rayna, I think you have beautiful handwriting. I never did and always chose to print instead. Now the only thing I ever 'write' is my signature on checks and other documents. I always wished I would have given it more of an effort. I love cursive writing!

Blessings,
Trudy

Dr. John and I were just talking yesterday about cursive writing. We used to have to do pages of practice letters...pages and pages! And it was graded too! So, like you, my handwriting has become just barely legible. The nuns are probably turning over in their graves at the state of my penship today!!
Congrats on your award!

Very easy to read :)

I always envied my sister her beautiful handwriting. No one would ever be able to forge her signature because very few people can write that well!

I'd have to work to make mine legible!

Alright this is the second time I have been tagged. And yes I am going to do this. I already have it written down. I guess I need to take your name off and pick someone else though.
My problem is not finding a pen its getting the picture into the computer. Technology strikes again.
I liked your handwriting by the way.

Love your handwriting, Rayna. It's very legible and has great energy. It looks like you used a lot of pressure though. I sense determination!

Have you ever had an analysis of your handwriting? It is as you say a window to your personality.

I like your penmanship. These memes are so interesting.

Your writing looks like you!
I will do this soon.

@ Jan- that's absolutely awesome.

@ Hart- why am I not surprised that our letters are similar? And yes, Hindi it is

@ Karen - thank you. I really press down while writing, so my hand does too

@ Stephen- I never thought of my handwriting as 'girlie', so now need to digest the female handwriting bit :-)

@ LTM- I do, I do. And my elephant doesn't like being mistaken for a pig :-(

@ Lydia- thank you

@ Tina- you are brave- I would never attempt homeschooling

@ Holly- she's supposed to be my pet elephant :-(

@ Fiona - thank you.

@ Mason- my kids are being mandatorily taught cursive. It is tough for them now,but I am happy.

@ Trudy - thank you. And I find it much easier to 'write' than to print. Strange, isn't it?

@ SueAnn - I did a lot of those too. Not too many of those lessons have stayed with me, though

@ Jemi- that is such an advantage of having a really beautiful hand

@ Diane- forgotten skill, because we don't need it

@ Theres just life- oh just scratch my name off, or tag me too, since you did it before I did. I don't have a scanner, so took a photograph and posted it

@ Mary- it is great fun

@ Vera- I do press down a lot- and always leave pressure marks on the page below. And I guess I am determined.

@ hwexpert- actually, I have. And they are very accurate

@ Medeia- they are great, aren't they. And thanks
