Buck toothed and bespectacled, everyone picked on poor Bindu.
When she wasn’t being bullied, she was being shunned.
“Beauty is only skin deep”, her mother would assure her. But
she was never convinced. She wanted to be accepted. She wanted to be like them.
And then she transformed herself. With her braces removed,
and brand new contact lenses, she became Beautiful. Suddenly, she was popular. The
boys who’d pulled her pigtails lined up to ask her out. The girls who’d ignored
her wanted to be friends.
It was nice to be Beautiful, but Bindu knew exactly who she
could trust.

Ah, a cautionary tale! These are wonderful stories and I, of course, will be back.

Wow, very cool concept! Excited to read more, and I love the brevity of them too. Good work!
Like magnets attracting iron, beauty draws eyes. And people often forget to look beneath.
I'm glad Bindu didn't let the attention get to her head. I know of many people who did.
A short story which speaks volumes. Thumbs up! :)
This lesson is hard to teach and even harder to learn. All too often our young people do not realize their new found fame/attention is not genuine. ~~Emmly Jane @ Unconditional love with a few conditions
I had never heard of a Drabble before, but I like it!
(Stopping by from the A to Z Challenge)
What a true story that is! I have know people just like that and have seen the treatment change when they changed. Some didn't handle it too well. Well done, Natasha

Natasha - What a lovely idea for this A-Z challenge! I love it! And you are so right about how you can tell who is trustworthy...
