Being a Mother

The kids were both in a good mood.
"You are a Princess", said my younger one giving me a hug.
"No, you are a Queen", said the older one pushing his brother away so he could hug me.
"I'm not a Princess, or a Queen", I laughed. "I am just your Mamma."
"But you are as pretty as a princess", said one, "and as kind as a queen", asserted the other.
Why I couldn't just be Mamma, I don't know. Because flattering though it is to being called a Princess and a Queen, being a mother is so much harder.

What if you told them they were little princes?

How great to have kids that think that way. And enjoyable too!

Clarissa - Oh, how true that is!!! Those boys have noooo idea! But how wonderful that they see you that way :-). I'm so glad they have a sense of what a wonderful person you are :-).

It's great being a Mum but there are so many expectations placed on Mums. We want our Mum to be able to do everything and to know everything, to soothe every pain away and be there for all time. We forget that she's just a human being until she's gone.

Haha. That's what is so awesome about these innocent little ones. They say everything truly. There's no superficiality or any fake lines to impress. They say all of it honestly, from their heart.

And, I read your blog 'Snapshots of Bombay', being a Bombay-ite, I connected with a few of those pictures.
Great work. I hope you post there too sometime! :)

Take care.
