I was always slightly vague about
the distance of the marathon- anything from 42 kilometers to 42.2 kilometers
was what I would put it at. It really didn’t matter- when you have done that
much, a bit more is just a bit more.
But when my legs gave way with less
than 50 meters to go, the distance to the finish line seemed insurmountable.
Those last few steps were harder than the rest of the race had been. I now know
the exact distance of the marathon is exactly forty two point one nine five kilometres-
no more, no less.

Congrats Natasha!!!!! Hey, your legs started to give out but you finished! It's an amazing accomplishment. Just keep swimming (Dory voice from Finding Nemo). . . I mean running. :D

Natasha - It always seems that time moves more slowly and distances are longer when you're eager to get to the end. That's what makes the end of a run so much harder. Good for you not to give up.
