Back from the Future- blog hop

When first read about the Back from the Future bloghop, I knew I had to participate. The premise is simple.
You’re up before dawn on a Saturday when the doorbell rings. You haven’t brewed your coffee so you wonder if you imagined the sound. Plonking the half-filled carafe in the sink, you go to the front door and cautiously swing it open. No one there. As you cast your eyes to the ground, you see a parcel addressed to you … from you.
You scoop it up and haul it inside, sensing something legitimate despite the extreme oddness of the situation. Carefully, you pry it open. Inside is a shoebox — sent from ten years in the future — and it’s filled with items you have sent yourself.
What’s in it?
A flat round stone eroded smooth. Where did it come from- the Chadar trek, Machu Pichu, or a deserted beach?
A ticket stub from Nairobi. Did I summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, shoot the Big Five, or go on work?
A menu of Bookworm Bistro. Was my first book written there? Did I open my own restaurant?
A shadow photograph of a woman flanked by two men. Is that how tall my younger one is going to grow? I turn it over. There is a note to me, from me.
(It’s nothing like you imagine. Much better than you dream. Carpe diem.)

A Drabble is a story told in exactly 100 words.
