They seem to fight all day long.
"Whatever I want, why do you want?"
"Mamma, he has taken my pencil."
"Why are you kicking me, haan?"
"He hit me." "No, he kicked me first." "But he was not letting me sit on the sofa"
"I don't want to watch this channel." "But I want to watch."
There are times when I worry that one of them will get hurt. There are times when I wonder if they will ever learn to get along.
But when either is upset, the other is at his side.
What I never had. Sibling love.
A drabble is a story told in exactly 100 words.
Lovely shot! It's a siblings job to fight with the others... that's how they learn to argue, reason, accept defeat and triumph, to be kind, to share...
ReplyDeleteTwo little boys make lots of noise- there was a beautiful poem about that in one of the old Target magazines.
ReplyDeleteIt ended with a very poignant line:
One little boy is a lonely boy.
The photograph is just lovely! Sleeping kids are adorable, but not if they are like my youngest- very very difficult to wake up! Even now that he's almost twenty one- he's a pukka Kumbhakarn!
They look so angelic when they're asleep!

ReplyDeleteAnother thought-provoking drabble. I have two sisters and two brothers, and no matter what I thought about them forty years ago, I wouldn´t trade any of them for a million pounds today.
ReplyDeleteRayna. This is SO cute. Reminds me of my childhood, fighting with my brother. But at the end of the day, we both are very close and really care about one another.
ReplyDeleteBoys will be boys! Mine are always bickering...and conspiring. They know all the buttons to push around here. Sigh. But there's no substitute for a sibling.

ReplyDeleteIn my experience girls are just the same. Bicker, bicker until something bad happens than they are all about backing each other up.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful picture!! I had three brothers!! As the only girl..it was tough. Lots of fighting and carrying on. But we loved each other. Still do...it is very special!!

ReplyDelete@ Dipali - growign up, I am not sure if I was a lonely child, but I do know I would not have wanted only one child myself.
My kids are relatively easy to wake up- it takes me about 10 mintues in the morning.
