“What does this button do?”, my eight year old asked me. I could
have told him not to worry about the complicated settings on my camera, but I was
in a pedantic mood and told him all I knew about apertures and shutter speeds. I
was certain he wasn’t taking any of it in- how could he, when he was too young
to grasp even the basic principles of optics?
Two hours later, he told me exactly how he wanted the
shutter speed set. I was pretty sure it wouldn’t work, but the photograph that he
took is a Classic.

A drabble is a story told in exactly 100 words.
This is an important thing for parents or anyone dealing with children to remember. Even if they seem they may not be comprehending or listening, children hear what we say so we need to answer their questions well and be careful about what we say if we don't want them repeating it.
ReplyDeleteGood point made in few words.

ReplyDeleteI always love seeing parents passing down photography skills to their children. :)
ReplyDeleteA breath taking photograph, filled with multiple layers of memory. I'm amazed everyday by children's precociousness. Thank you for taking the time to give him a chance.
