On Nature

With a population of 21 million people, and a population density of over sixty-four thousand people per square miles, Bombay is one city which needs all the green spaces that it has. Aarey Milk Colony is one of those places. We complain about the badly maintained roads and the lack of drinking water sources, but it is an untamed patch of green that we can enjoy.

But, even that is now being parceled out for "development". Soon housing colonies and commercially developed "picnic spots" will claim the place we go to for our weekly runs.

Why can't we respect Nature?

Natasha - What a lovely 'photo!! And I agree, large cities need nature just as much as any other place - maybe more. There are many documented benefits of natural beauty and people know that even on an intuitive level. It's so scary when nature is carved up thoughtlessly...

You are such a great photographer!

What a crime to destroy such a beautiful spot. Sad.

I believe it is because people respect money more. Tragic.

The lungs of your city, a place to wander and wonder. To protect them in their imperfect state is vital for our wellbeing. I'll go now, or you'll need to drag me off my soapbox. Sue@JumpingAground (Alliteration & drabbles)

Until the money grabbing individuals in charge are stopped, nature and people will be the losers. Hopefully enough people will complain to the right source to get this stopped, at least I pray so.

what a shame that that is happening. There is nothing nicer than to have a patch of green to appreciate. Blessings, Joanne
