Dandelion


"Will you marry me?", I whispered.


"Shhhhh", she said, adjusting her lenses. I looked at her absorbed in her work- that is one of the things I love most about her. Her total concentration, even on something as commonplace as a dandelion. The seeds scattered. Her shutter clicked continuously. She checked the images on the viewer.

"Darn, missed it again by a microsecond", she said straightening up. She turned her heart-shaped face to mine. "You were saying?"

"I love you", I said, slipping my arms around her waist. The moment had passed. I had a lifetime to pop the question.

    "Drabblers" -- ha ha, it never occurred to me that this is what writers of drabbles would be called, but it makes sense! A bit uncomfortably close to "dribblers" though, isn't it, LOL?

    @ Dorte- thank you. I had only one story in mind, but the beauty of shorter fiction is that it is open to interpretation.

    @ Margot- thank you. There's is quite a perfect relationship, isn't it?
    He will make her happy, and derive happiness from her.

    @ Ella - like Alex says, he did it once, so he will definitely do it again.

    @ Debra- I never quite figured why they are called drabbles, but if they are drabbles, we are drabblers, even if it is uncomfortably close to another.

    @ Leigh- thank you, Leigh. I love writing love story drabbles. Actually, if I am to make a confession, I love love stories.
